thanks for the concern, all. this was a few months ago. I went to an urgent care. the bite disappeared within an hour or so. I had a full tick panel and it was fine.

A note on Lyme disease:  it takes 24-36 hours of blood-feeding for a tick to transmit Lyme to its host.  While I don’t know OP I’m fairly confident most people would notice a fully engorged tick dangling from their forehead.

As someone equally pale and freckled, yeah. All bug bites I get look way worse than they should. It’s the thin skin, everything that happens to me is WAY more visible no matter how mild.
